Saturday SCS Lakers U14s  Edge Out All Stars in a Classic 2:40pm, 13 December 2025, Court 2

The Saturday SCS Lakers U14s moved to an impressive 4-1 record this weekend, surviving a heart-stopping 22-21 battle against the All Stars. In a game that truly lived up to the "nail-biter" tag, the Lakers proved that their resilience is just as strong as their talent, clawing back from an early deficit to protect their home court. The contest started as a defensive struggle, and while Kyle #44 got the Lakers on the board first, the All-Stars threatened to pull away with an early 6-2 run. However, Muse #31 provided the spark the team needed, knocking down back-to-back buckets to level the score and settle the nerves. Kenjie #90, coming off the bench with an efficient 4-point burst, bolstered this momentum and put the Lakers back in the lead.

Josh Evans #20 was the standout player, showcasing a clinical 8-point performance on a nearly flawless 4-of-5 shooting performance. His scoring flurry late in the first half allowed the Lakers to head into the locker room with a 14-9 cushion, but the drama was only just beginning. The second half turned into a tactical chess match, with the All-Stars relentlessly chipping away at the lead. Every time the game felt like it might slip away, the Lakers found an answer. Ralph Wendell Basilan #3 came through with a massive field goal, and Muse #31 hit what would eventually be the game-winner to push the lead to 22-17. Despite a frantic final push by the All-Stars that brought them within a single point, the Lakers' defense held firm in the closing seconds. It was a victory defined by grit and composure—the kind of win that builds a championship identity.
